Welcome to the resources page for the Raine Study’s 2023 Symposium event held Thursday, 26 October at The University Club of Western Australia (Perth). The Symposium brings together Raine Study participants, researchers and stakeholders to share research findings, discuss future research opportunities, and showcase the amazing achievements of the Raine Study.

Highlights

His Excellency the Honourable Chris Dawson AC APM, Governor of Western Australia, and Raine Study Patron, opened the Symposium which drew on the theme “Family”.

Raine Study original investigator Fiona Stanley took part in a Q&A panel of Raine Study participants. Founder John Newnham explained how the Australian Pre-Term Birth Alliance has built on his work with the Raine Study, while long-term Raine Study collaborator Lawrie Beilin shared memories and key learnings from his 25-year involvement. And renowned consumer advocate Anne McKenzie spoke about cohort consultation best practice.

Senior researchers, special interest group leaders, student and early research career presenters discussed the impact of their research findings in vision, genetics, cardiovascular health and more, demonstrating the breadth of opportunities the Raine Study can offer researchers at all stages of their careers.
