Raine Study Founding Investigator John Newnham recognised

The Raine Study’s Founding Investigator Professor John Newnham has been awarded the prestigious Hippocrates Award as a part of the Australian Medical Association’s award evening on Saturday, 22 June.

Professor Newnham has been praised for his outstanding contribution to health and medicine in Western Australia and his globally recognised research.

The award celebrates Professor Newnham’s long-lasting contribution to health and medicine in WA and AMA President Dr Omar Khorshid describes Newnham’s research as a benchmark for many others.

“John epitomises the characteristics of a medical practitioner at their best: intelligent, innovative, compassionate and honourable,” head of Maternal Fetal Medicine at KEMH, Professor Jan Dickinson said.

Alongside this prestigious award, Professor Newnham was also named as a finalist in the 2019 Western Australian of the Year Awards.

Congratulations to Professor Newnham on winning the AMA’s Hippocrates Award as well as the nomination for 2019 Western Australia of the Year.
